To end a rather tiring week settling timetable issues, I went with dar to the Cathedral for Mass. It was quite hilarious as she thought Mass would only last at most 45 min, with this being a Day of Obligation. However, The Chior of Risen Christ really impressed us with their fantastic voices and great music. And well, I told dar, ” welcome to the Catholic Church!”. Most Churches in Singapore have modernised, with music being less traditional and bringing in drums or rhythms. Although the modern settings help with keeping with the mood and ambience of the Mass, the traditional colour of the Mass is perhaps not as well brought out….
